Fast-tracking veterans into tech careers

Roles: Creative Director, web experience & systemization

Microsoft's premier veteran training program evolves to meet the demands of a changing economy.

Microsoft's Military Affairs organization empowers hundreds of veterans annually to transition into tech careers. However, their outdated website and rigid content system needed an upgrade to effectively showcase the program's transformative impact on veterans' lives. That’s where we came in.

Military Affairs operates within Microsoft, requiring its typeface and color palette to align with the core brand. Working within these guidelines, we pushed boundaries—amplifying typography for maximum impact and incorporating bold color blocking to connect with veterans eager to transition into tech careers.

We created content patterns to present information more clearly to veterans. With Military Affairs' flagship program requiring a 20-week full-time commitment, it was crucial to clearly communicate expectations and help recruits determine if it was the right fit for them.

By introducing a more impactful aesthetic and improved content patterns, we enhanced Military Affairs' ability to share their story and highlight their continued support for veterans. This empowered their content creators to effectively connect with every veteran seeking new opportunities.
