The Events Calendar is the most widely used calendar solution for WordPress, trusted by over 900,000 users to engage their audiences. As Principal Designer for two years, I led the design team and spearheaded both a brand and product refresh.
The previous logo for The Events Calendar featured a 'sign of the horns' paired with a calendar, styled in a Noun Project aesthetic. To better reflect the product suite—which goes beyond just calendars to include tickets, registration, marketing automation, and more—we removed the calendar element. We redesigned the horn as a clean, single-line illustration that’s simple, playful, and full of energy.
Much like the logo, we streamlined the product to be cleaner and easier to customize. For the visual brand language, we aimed to capture the dynamic energy of events—the rhythm of live music and the sense of connection that comes from shared experiences.
The visual language is versatile enough to seamlessly adapt across diverse product pages while providing the necessary support visuals to comprehensively showcase the product.
